Rage Countdown
If you think life is a little strange right now, if you are having a hard time keeping it together or if circumstances are off, odd and over all, annoying as hellyou might recall that I warned you! Venus Retrograde baby! Its Venus Retrograde. Im not going to try to explain whats going on with Venus, Im not an astrologer. I will say my understanding of the astrological situation doesnt make me immune to its effects.
From my perspective, this is a time that feels something like a soul spring cleaningand it lasts from the hottest part of the summer and into the thick of the Indian summer. Whatever isnt working in your life, has to change. What is working, is refined. No exceptions (except for those of us who love living in denial and avoid changethese lucky souls just seem to be battered around with out a clue and are a bit more flatulent than usual).
One delightful (to me) side effect of the Venus Retrograde is how a great time to work. I adore work and have written a fourth memoir. I will be done with this draft in two more weeks. 600 pages of intensity have whipped off these fingers, making them so sore I carry around ice packs. Ive also hammered out a 100 page proposal for a book on writing memoir. Did I mention how happy this makes me?
What is coming, in the final stages of this retrograde is something called a Rage Retreat with Ruth King , author of Healing Rage. Healing Rage was initially self-published but picked up by Penguin and released this summer. Her work is the most stunning, direct and helpful application for channeling anger that I have found to-date. I want to learn more about rage from Ruth, I want to understand how to use it to help myself and others, verses destroy with it via denial and avoidance. Ruth has a formula. I cant wait.
