Jos World Gone Wrong

The summer pre-school program is wrapping up and the parents are gathering their children. The teacher passes out little bye bye leis to all the kids and waves to everyone.

Have a great August," she sings, "see you next month.

Jo Jo is nowhere to be found. Theres no, YEAH, Mommy is here, accompanied by the killer hug. I go into the school and she's alone in the middle of the reading room, flopped on the floor. She is as elegant than Miss America, wearing the vintage slip that I converted to a dress and a pair Little Mermaid high heels. But still, the happiest girl in the world is not right. Her tiara hangs off one ear and her chin is tucked to her chest. She flips the pages Rainbow Fish as if I am not there.

I kneel next to her.

Whats going on, Sweetie? .

Jo Jos lip trembles, its clear this isnt the first round of tears. I

There werent enough sprinkles on my cupcake, she whimpers. Any my lei doesnt have one pink flower on it. Not one!!

She tosses her tropical lei across the room, disgusted.
